General Information and Conditions
- Drivers must be over 23 and have held a full licence for at
least a year in most countries. However, age limits vary and restrictions
or surcharges may apply to drivers under 25 and over 65. Please
check with us if you are under 25 or over 65.
- A full clean driving licence is required
-please check with us if you have any endorsements. An International
Drivers Licence may be advisable for certain destinations. On
collection of the car, you will be required to produce driving
licences for all drivers (& passports outside the UK) and
to sign the supplier's Conditions of Hire making rental a direct
contract between hirer and car hire company. Only named drivers
are insured to drive and additional fees may be charged for extra
drivers.
- Most suppliers now also require a major Credit Card in the driver's
name for security/fuel deposits. Please advise us if you do not
hold a credit card.
- Please check vehicles carefully on collection for dents, scratches
etc and make sure that any damage is noted on the rental agreement.
You should also make a similar check at the end of the rental as
you may be held responsible for any damage caused while the vehicle
was in your care.
- Insurance does not normally cover damage to tyres, wheels or
exhaust, lost keys or negligent/wilful damage to the interior (eg:
cigarette burns etc). Personal accident insurance is generally
offered for a small fee -this is not obligatory and you may already
be covered by your holiday insurance or credit card. Please check
before signing up.
- A delivery or collection charge may be
made where car hire commences or terminates outside the supplier's
normal delivery/collection areas or outside normal operating
hours. Where a fuel deposit is taken, you should refill the vehicle
at the end of the rental to avoid a refuelling premium which
can be substantial. Please note that some suppliers require cars
returned empty – please
adhere to the instructions on your voucher.
- If for any reason the type or group of car ordered is not available,
the suppliers reserve the right to substitute the nearest alternative.
If you have any difficulties with your vehicle, please contact
the supplier immediately as problems can often be rectified on
the spot.
- Please note that when a roofrack is requested, clients are advised
to take a suitable means of securing their load.
- Please adhere to the meeting procedures outlined on your Voucher.
If in difficulties, please call the supplier direct on the local
number shown for advice. Do not be misled by unofficial car hire
touts or representatives of rival companies.
- Cars must be returned to the pre-arranged collection point within
the specified time to avoid extra day charges at local rates. Where
car parking spaces are allocated, be careful to select those allocated
to your supplier.
- Holiday Rentacar operates a free cancellation
service, but some of our suppliers operate a standard £10
cancellation fee, and a fee of one day's rental is normally charged
where less than 24 hours notice is given. We pass these charges
on to clients. Refunds are not usually available for no shows,
failure to produce a valid driving licence or early returns.
- Where flight numbers have been correctly notified, suppliers
will meet delayed flights. Please advise us as early as possible
of any change in flight.
- Holiday Rentacar Ltd is not responsible for fuel charges, parking
fines or fees, extensions to the period of hire shown on the Voucher,
or for any extras arranged directly between client and supplier.
Holiday Rentacar Ltd acts only as an agent to arrange your car
hire and does not accept any liability for injury, death or damage
to person or property, or for any acts of default by third parties.
- Finally, please do not forget your driving licence, voucher and
credit card.
